Happy new year!
Befitting of a new year – one, thankfully and appropriately, that should bring even greater focus on sustainable design and construction – we just shipped, last night, the first modules for our first KieranTimberlake LivingHome (pictured above)! And we’re introducing services for those of you who’ve asked us to help you create or renovate your own sustainable living spaces!
Introducing KT1.5, the first LivingHome designed by KieranTimberlake.
This is the first LivingHome we’ve completed based on the design of KieranTimberlake, the AIA 2008 Firm of the Year. The
KieranTimberlake single and multi-family LivingHomes feature a unique hybrid building system we’ve development. As with all LivingHomes, they include an extremely comprehensive environmental program based on our Z6 sustainability goals. They range in price from $185-250 square foot, not including transport or foundation.
This new 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2,500 square foot LivingHome will be assembled in the next four days!! That’s right, FOUR (long) days!! It’ll reside in the booth of Builder Magazine, the official publication of the National Association of Home Builders and our partner for the conference, at the International Builder Show, January 20-23, in Las Vegas, the NAHB’s annual trade show.
We’re using the show to introduce our LivingHomes Builder Program, which is designed for builders and developers who want to offer LivingHomes to their local communiites. For more information about what we’re doing at the Builder Show, including a time-lapse video of the manufacture and eventual assembly of the BUILDER LivingHome, blogs and interviews with various staff, go to www.builderlivinghome.com.*This is a trade show and we’ll not guarantee we can assemble the home for customers in four days normally, but way, way fast, for sure!
Thanks to Kohler and other sponsors, after the Builder Show, we’re taking the LivingHome to the TED Conference (www.ted.com) in Long Beach, February 3-7, where I will give a short “TED Talk” on the home. The LivingHome will be open for public tours from February 8-20. There will be special events, including special Friends of LivingHome tours (you’ll get info on this soon).
Please note we’ll be selling this LivingHome after Long Beach and it’ll be a great deal for someone who has land and who wants a LivingHome. Details on this, too, soon.
LivingHomes consulting services!
We often get requests from people who would like us to help them renovate, decorate or to help them secure LEED certification for their homes or buildings. As a result, we’ve decided to launch a Service group which will provide consulting to homeowners and business professionals.
